The Go Gos:
Gina Schock & Jane Wiedlin

The Go Go’s are members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Members. They were inducted in 2021.

Best New Artist Nomination (1982): The band was nominated for Best New Artist at the 24th Annual Grammy Awards following the massive success of their debut album, Beauty and the Beat, but lost the award to Sheena Easton.

Record Sales and Milestones: Beauty and the Beat made history as the first album written and performed entirely by an all-female band to hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts, where it stayed for six weeks.

Hollywood Walk of Fame: Although they did not win a Grammy, the group was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011

Jane Wiedlin – Is a singer, songwriter and the rhythm guitarist of “The Go Go’s”.  She also played Joan of Arc in the movie Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and had a small 8 second part in the movie Star Trek, The Last Voyage Home and  played a math teacher in the 2016 horror film HoneyBee. She has provided voices for characters in television and film animation, such as Miranda Kane and Shannon in The New Batman Adventures, Gwen in Mission Hill, and Dusk of the Hex Girls in the Scooby-Doo franchise.

Gina Schock – Is best known as the bad ass drummer for “The Go Go’s”.  In 1985, Schock made several television appearances as the drummer for the Norwegian band a-ha, though these were strictly promotional engagements and she never became an official member of the group. The 2020 documentary The Go-Go’s, directed by Alison Ellwood, featured extensive material from Schock’s personal archives. Schock later revealed that she had provided “99% of the photos in Alison’s documentary”. In 2021, Schock published her book Made in Hollywood: All Access With the Go-Go’s, a combination of her personal photographs documenting the band’s history and her own written memoirs.
